Alcohol Attitudes

I have had some interesting conversations lately about alcohol.

They usually are rationalizations and stem around the idea or belief that they are “not” whatever they think an alcohol problem would look like.

So, I’m not drinking in the morning, I’m not drinking alone, I haven’t lost a job, I didn’t get a DUI, etc etc etc.

These individuals were doing things like having blackouts, passing out, taking alcohol in water bottles to their kids’ activities. Getting together with friends and having 8 or 9 drinks.

These things seem normal often because we have peers who are doing the same things …. normalization.

Here is a very interesting CBC article about the attitudes.
